Reptile Week

Here is a look at our reptile week! After playtime and our morning routine review we learned all about reptiles! We learned that reptiles are cold blooded animals. They have scales and lay eggs. They have lungs to breathe and use the sun for heat.

Our animal song is coming along great. This week we learned the reptile verse of course. They sound so cute singing it. Now they can sing 5 of the 7 verses of our longest preschool song of the year! (we have amphibian and insect week still to come).

Take a look at our reptile art:

Table time! We have snack following lesson time and then we work on worksheets. We focused on the letter N this week. They also have worksheets about beginning sounds and finding reptiles.

This week we are learning about amphibians! Stay tuned!

Fish Week

We are continuing our animal theme for the month of January. It is great to be back in school. We learned all about fish this week during our lesson time.

We are continuing to work on the alphabet with our letter of the week. We learn shapes, calendar, weather, colors, numbers, and more during our morning circle time.

Elly is working on the letter of the week worksheet, letter M.

What is a Fish worksheet!

We also work a lot on beginning sounds

Here are our art projects for fish week. They were really fun!

Birds and Our Christmas Party!

We only had two weeks of school in December before our Christmas break. We started our animal theme which we will be working on during January, too. In December we learned about mammals and birds. School starts again tomorrow, January 2nd, but take a look at our last week of December!

We had a fun Christmas party our last day before the break. We ate cookies under the Christmas tree, went fishing for letters, played pin the star on the Christmas tree (hilarious), and wrapped the presents we had made for our parents.

We Know the Seasons!

The end of November means finishing up another great theme. We learned all about shapes, and it was in fact, one of my favorite preschool months ever! We spent two days on each season. After our morning routine of calendar, weather, alphabet, numbers, and shapes we would learn about that season and have a fun "seasonal activity." We also learned a song about the seasons, which I recorded the kids singing and posted below. After the lesson it is snack time at the table. Next we worked on season worksheets and then art projects. We finish preschool with story time. It was a great month! Take a look below at some our fun!

 Fall addition worksheets

Here are our growing seeds that we planted when we learned about spring!

We went on a fall scavenger hunt outside one day to look for leaves. We learned how leaves in Arizona don't always change colors. (I bought a fall garland at the dollar store and cut leaves off of them and spread them in the front lawn so they could find some fun red and orange leaves).

 We made turkeys for Thanksgiving!

What would you see on a snowy day?

Elly practicing her name!

Braxton and Sam working on puzzles during playtime!

We had a snowball fight when we learned about winter. This was definitely their favorite!

They brought winter clothes to wear for the cottonball-- I mean snowball fight. :)

Preschool Update

Finishing up our October theme "shapes"

 Oval mice

 Shape Bingo

 Diamond Kite

The kids dressed up at preschool for Halloween. Sam was Robin Hood, Braxton was Spiderman, and Emma was a princess. Elly came later as a mermaid and Jenna was sick that day.

Happy Halloween!

Our Shape Song!!

___________________________________

Our new November theme is "seasons!" We are having a lot of fun so far. After play time and our morning routine (calendar, weather, number review, shapes, abc's, and letter of the week) we have a lesson on a season. After our lessons this month we have seasonal activities, picnics, snowball fights, collecting leaves, etc. We have learned about spring and started learning about summer so far. We have a new song for this month to help us learn about seasons and it's a cute one.

Spring picnic

Sam brought his hermit crabs to share in the picnic fun. The kids loved them!
