Character & Manners theme and Christmas fun!

Our theme for December was character and manners. We talked about being polite and saying words like please and thank you. We had lessons on how to set a table and good table manners. We played a fun manners, "what would you do game", too!

We did lots of fun Christmas worksheets and art projects. My favorite were the Rudolph hats!

The kids are getting really good at puzzles and doing better on their names.

We do a little bit of yoga each day at preschool. We call it "bug yoga" because the different positions imitate bugs!

Our preschool Christmas party was really fun. We made play dough shapes with cookie cutters, made a cute photo craft, had a candy cane hunt, snowman bean bag toss, and played "stocking stuffer" where the kids have to guess what is in the stocking while blindfolded.

Merry Christmas! See you next year!

Season Theme!

We learned about seasons this month. Each week we focused on a different season, starting with winter. We had a bag full of surprise items that we drew from and then had to guess what season they came from. After we pulled all the items out of the bag we picked someone to model them for us.

Lexi was our Winter girl.

Jace was our Spring boy.

Ruby was our Summer girl.

Tilly was our Fall girl.

We had a few fun art projects to do. For Winter we made snowmen and had a snowball fight (cotton ball snowballs). We made rainbows in the Spring. We made season wheels and season books to show trees during each time of the year.

The week of Thanksgiving we made turkeys and pilgrim hats. We learned about the Mayflower and the first Thanksgiving feast, although I couldn't find most of my story board pieces!

We continue to work on sounds and blending. A few of the children have started to read simple, two sound words. We work on names and puzzles every day too.

We have so much fun at preschool!

Shape Theme!

We had a fun month learning shapes!

We start our day with puzzles and a snack while I check their reading/letter recognition level.

Then we move into our preschool routine where we sing songs and review letters, sounds, numbers, shapes, counting, calendar, seasons and weather. Whew! This month after practicing names we also learned about different shapes and practiced drawing those too. We had a few fun shape activities like shape bingo.

We worked on shape and number worksheets.

And we did lots of fun shape art projects!

We had a preschool Halloween party and played some fun games including musical pumpkins, bean bag toss, pin the heart on the skeleton, and Halloween bingo. Anna and Elsa came as a magical surprise and it was so fun to listen to their story and their songs! We made spider hats and went through a spider maze.

October was a great month!
