Preschool Party and Numbers Theme

Our class earned enough pom pons to fill up our jar so we had a PRESCHOOL PARTY! We did lots of fun things at our party. The first hour of preschool was the same, but after we finished our morning routine we started our party with ice cream and sprinkles!!

After ice cream we went "fishing" for letters. The girls loved this! After they "caught" a letter they had to tell me what letter they caught.

Next we tried to make letters in shaving cream. This was messy and a lot of fun. If your daughter went home spelling slightly masculine that day, here's the explanation!

We are Bri's Bees so our next activity was a wooden bee painting project.

Because we are working on our numbers theme we played a few number games at our. This game is played with an empty egg carton. I wrote numbers on each of the sections and put a coin in the carton. The girls took turns shaking it, opening it up, and saying the letter the coin had landed on.

It was a fun preschool party and we are already excited for our next one. These girls are so good at preschool they earn lots of pom poms every day!

We are focusing on one letter, shape, and number a week now. I got the idea of a "Focus Wall" from another friend that teaches preschool. We go over our focus items and practice tracing each item on our whiteboards. If the girls finish the focus items, they can work on tracing/ writing their names on the back.

Here are a few more pictured highlights from the last 2 weeks. We've worked on a cute flower petal project. The girls are getting much better at tracing and writing on their own. One thing we do during our morning routine is spell our names aloud. The girls are getting so good at spelling and writing their names, it's exciting! We also worked on a number booklet. For each number we glued that number on pom poms on the page. The finished project was thick so I had to tie it closed with yarn.

The first day of fall was the 23rd so we celebrated by making leaf tracings. I thought they turned out great. Happy Fall!
