A New Year at Bri's Bees! Alphabet Theme

It's a new year a Bri's Bees and I have a great class. We are working on getting ready for kindergarten this year with our preK curriculum. This last month we have focused on the letters of the alphabet. We will continue to study and review letters and sounds throughout the year, and even learn to read! The first week we presented our All About Me posters.

We played some fun activities while learning new letters. We went on letter hunts, played letter BINGO, made play-dough letters, made pasta letters, and read books about each letter in the alphabet.

Each preschool day we start with a snack and a puzzle. While the kids work on puzzles I can go around and review sounds and blending with them on-one-one. Some of the kids are getting really good at puzzles!

After puzzles we do our preschool routine. We sing songs, review names, work on our Read at 3 program, go over letter and number flashcards, and talk about the calendar and the weather. This month we have been working on names during whiteboard time.

After whiteboards we have a lesson activity. Then we do a worksheet.  When they are done with their worksheet I give them a star and check their homework and count their Bri's Bucks to see if they have enough to go to the treasure box.

Next is art! This month we have had some fun alphabet art projects. At the end of the month everyone got to take home their cute alphabet book we've worked on all month.

After art we have play time. Sometimes we play inside and sometimes we play outside!

At the end of the month we had a fun field trip to Black Island Farms.

Happy Fall!
